Midwest Town to Ban Profanity in Bars

K, so where I live (St. Charles, Missouri) they are considering a bill to outlaw swearing and profane music in BARS. Not that I'm that big of a fan of profane music, but can they really try to tell 21 year old adults and older what to listen to??? And what if a cuss word just slips, do you get arrested? This is why I hate living in a country founded on phony Puritan principles. Here is the story on Yahoo...

You live in the Midwest, right? Hell, I am surprised you still have bars....

We have casinos here too! We're really sinners!

Anyway, just because something is suggested, I honestly don't see any way that this is going to get passed. There's already outrage going on about it all over this area. It's kind of like when they tried to raise the taxes on ciggs here in 06. It was voted no by a huge ratio, because St. Louis, and the St. Louis area is definitely a smoking and drinking town. I agree that historic St. Charles has gotten a little too buckwild on certain nights, to the point I feel like I'm in Cancun or something. But I think maybe just assigning extra police around would calm things down a bit.

Someone should picket City Hall with a vast array of cuss words on the signs while drinking tequila from the bottle, LOL

Ya, I'm actually not too worried about it anymore. I talked to a few people 'in the know' and it's pretty much not going to happen. The mayor himself even said that the bill was only in a very rough draft right now. So I can continue cursing and dancing on tables! Whew!

Umm....even if that were not yet illegal the cops would probably "make up nine things and arrest you." I'd bite my tongue in that part of the country!

Ya, I think the St. Louis area must just be trying to embarrass itself and make us look stupid to the rest of the country. Oh, well.
