Re: Creationist Museum: You can't make this stuff up!

How can you say normal people do not watch fox news? It is the number one rated cable news channel in the country. What are they watching then? I could call CNN the Clinton News Network but then you would think I was into conspiracies and I am certainly not.

I thought Rupert Murdoch was was Australian not English?

As for the headlines on the Neil Cavuto show correlating gas prices to Nancy Pelosi, I am sure that was the headline to get your attenion to look at his show. He always has opposing views on his economic show, one pro one against. Fox clearly states when they are stating his opinion and not the FNN voice. So if you do not like Bill Oreilly or Neil Cavuto, do not watch. I do not like Keith Olberman or Chris Mathews and I make my husband turn the channel when they are on, I like Tucker though and I watch when he is on. These shows are opinion shows, definitely different from the actual reporting. The one good thing fox news does is put two voices that have opposing views so you can decide which one you agree with. To view Fox news with a sinister motive is ridiculous, it is there to make money and be successful. Which it is, they have tapped into something the public at large likes. I think movies like Outfoxed with all these crazy theories are silly.

Re: Creationist Museum: You can't make this stuff up!

All networks are politically biased.

My brother in law is as right winged as they come and he refuses to watch Oprah or Dr. Phil because of their political beliefs!

To me that is insane! Don't watch because they are nutjobs, not because of their political beliefs!

I'm not a registered party member of anything....I'm one of those people that like to weigh their options at the time with an open mind considering every standpoint. I watch live House of Commons (I live in Canada. ) footage and watch many different network news programs.

The best is the Comedy Network IMHO

As for religion...I haven't ruled out intelligent design...but like Bacchus I feel it was started off by God and evolution did the rest.

But you know it could have been that evolution needed a bit of help to perfect the human race.

this is why I haven't ruled out ID.

(huge fan of the X-files btw )

I also agree that a museum to debunk evolution and justify creationism is more likely to be funded on the right....and I'm not sure how a Museum in Roswell is any comparison...that's like apples and oranges.

sidenote: I offer no evidence for my arguments because ... I don't roll that way. I believe in ETs, Darwin and God.

You are correct. Glad I left you something to cling to!

How can you say normal people do not watch fox news? It is the number one rated cable news channel in the country.
It only represents a fraction of where people get there news from on any given day. Most people do not watch cable news. Check out the ratings for ABC , CBS or NBC news on any given night and then you will see that Fox News really doesn't reach a very wide audience. Their highest rated shows are pulling in 2 million (out of 300 million Americans) max! The fact is, the majority of the population are not Republican and do not care to watch a specialty cable news channel that caters to an extremist agenda.

As for the headlines on the Neil Cavuto show correlating gas prices to Nancy Pelosi, I am sure that was the headline to get your attenion to look at his show.
So you are saying that disingenuous reporting is part of his shtick? Sounds about right.

The one good thing fox news does is put two voices that have opposing views so you can decide which one you agree with.
You are messing with me, right? LOL! Good one!

I love their "panels" as they are usually four or five Republicans and one Democrat, who happens to be the biggest idiot they could dig up, and when they actually do get a real Democrat on one of their shows they'll cut his/her mic or start yelling for him/her to shut up if the going gets tough...

Yes, The Faux News modus operandi is well known.

Why would it be ridiculous? Fox News is sinister. Any organization that lies to the American people and claims to be news to push a Radical Republican agenda (the party of war and the rich) is sinister. I can't think of a better definition.

Elitist arguments on all above!

I guess I watch FN because I am hoping to be rich and I love tea and crumpets.

I think we should email Waxman in Congress and maybe he can start an official investigation of FN and the subliminal messaging that they send out to the awaiting SS troops on what the group think should be for the day.

I must start reading Daily Kos and the Huffington Post every day because they are so middle of the road!

From what I understand Murdoch himself andRoger Ailes do set the daily group think agenda over at Faux News. They basically send a talking points memos to the noise casters everyday telling them what they need to focus on as far as the partisan "message" is concerned.

For instance:

"Don't bring up the war in Iraq. Don't bring up the war in Iraq. Ron Paul is a wacko. MENTION NANCY PELOSI IS DESTROYING MANKIND!!!!!! Don't bring up the war in Iraq."

BTW: Funny you bought up the SS! Fascism has been right on the tip of my tongue ever since Faux News came into this conversation!

I must start reading Daily Kos and the Huffington Post every day because they are so middle of the road!
I'd personally recommend BBC World news followed by Jim Lehrer and on the web you can't go wrong with the AP and Reuters.

Talking Re: Creationist Museum: You can't make this stuff up!

Yeah, Al-Reuters is middle of the road and non-biased as well as PBS. I would read Al-Reuters if I were into photo shop! Throw in BBC for more elitist commentary. Any other "Hate America First" news agency to recommend?

I am sure you thought of the SS when having a conservation about Republicans, pretty typical partisian schtick. I guess I could be cliched and mention the gulag or Stalin when referring to Liberals. Silly.

I recommend ANY News other then Fox Noise! There are thousands of news organizations that cover this beautiful earth. It doesn't even have to be in English. Pick one and that is the one I recommend over Faux News, ok?

So to give you an example: I get 300 channels on Satellite. I trust all 299 of them to be more informed and closer to the truth no matter the context or content then I do Fox Noise. I am including the cartoon network, the comedy channel and all 15 QVC derivatives in this assessment.

Actually I think the Fox Reality Channel is the best news channel in Murdoch's entire monopolistic media empire. The most "realistic" by far!

Were you referring to Guantanamo with the Gulag comment? I don't get it. Isn't that a Republican torture facility? Seems to detract from your argument.

No I was not talking about Club Gitmo. Speaking of torture, what is waterboarding? Is that a ride at a water park?

All right, Bacchus, I through "arguing" with you. Fun stuff. I am now through watching FN and will move out my red state immediately....
