So are they going to have a Kid Nation 2 this year?..... Am I the only one who liked the show? lol. I heard that it got bad ratings and that it caused some controversy (therefore no Kid Nation 2). I just wanted to ask and make sure.

Can someone tell me what the controversy was??

I know Kathleen liked to watch it with her daughter. I caught a few episodes, and although it was cute - it just wasn't my cup of tea.

The controversy:
I think the biggest issue was the labor laws in New Mexico which allowed the show to be filmed in the first place. Most states have rules against using kids as a cast on a reality show which is in continuous shooting and does not adhere to child labor laws (i.e. amount of hours in a day a child actor can work.) The counter argument was that it was like a summer camp, not a reality show so they did not have to consider such laws.

i watched a few eps to see what the deal was....it was ok. Nothing I'd watch weekly though. more like an "if its on and im bored..." show

....and that was the thing. Pushing Daisies was in the same slot on wednesday, so I had something to watch.

Totally. Once Pushing Daisies proved to be the BEST NEW SHOW OF THE SEASON....how could I choose little kids crying and screaming over awesomeness? pfft.
