Anyone have DirectTV's DVR???

It's pissing me off.

I'm recording a TON of series, and I set it for "First Run" and it keeps recording The Daily Show, Colbert, and RW/RR at like noon, 1pm, 2pm, etc etc.

I set First Run, and I have NO IDEA how to make it stop without having to manually set it each week.

Most likely the cause is DirecTV miscoding the episodes with the same show ID. This frequently happens if there is no specific episode explanation so computer is reading each one of those as a first run show. You should go into your series listing and delete things you no longer want to record. Before cleaned my listing recently, I had over 100 shows listed between my two DVRs.

Dish Network DVR's here, but I see that problem with some shows if they do not have good guide data. Actually, it happens with MTV shows (like The Real World) where it thinks all 50 repeats in a week are first run. When I run into that issue with a series I just set it to weekly instead of "new" or "season pass."

That's better that owing you a case. How about a Firestone instead. Maybe even one with Andrew's autograph. I was saving it for a charity auction but KT mentioned something about a charity case...

Thanks for the info, both of you. It's so annoying. I'm always borderline full on my DVR (we only have 1) so I'll just have to make sure i go through it every day and delete delete delete.

Does anyone have a DVR-type service with Charter? I just wondered if that was a good system/package because I have Charter cable but no DVR.
