Lost: Episode 413 - There's No Place Like Home pt. 2

I would like to say that I am walking away satisfied with the efforts that were put into this spectacular season.

I can at least say that I can walk away knowing that so many of my theories and assumptions were on the money for this season. Which is always a good thing.

However, (there is always an however or but in a review isn't there?) I wish we knew more of how they are going to get back to the island and how in the heck are they going to find the island now. I suppose I'll just have to wait for that to be unraveled in a painstakingly way in Season 5.

I'm a bit disappointed with the coffin reveal. I know it's silly. But I really didn't want it to be him in there. I can only hope that getting back to the island will be another miracle for this character (sorry for being vague here, I just don't want to spoil it for any west coasters that are lurking).

I'm wondering if I was the only one distracted by Jack's fake beard? I realize that getting back into production so quickly after the strike that he probably didn't have enough time to grow his beard back to shoot the scenes, but it was obviously fake.

I know I am going to be wondering all off-season about all those pesky details that fully explained the how's and why's or what is going to happen next.

I have to admit I was distracted by the phone in the first hour so I missed a lot about Kreamy and what went on there. I had a feeling I should have pressed record when it started just in case!

Re: Lost: Episode 413 - There's No Place Like Home pt. 2

I guess I am satisfied with the way things turned out although I feel as though the solid storyline is totally disintegrating (like the island.) It seemed as though half the episode was entirely unnecessary and didn't lead anywhere (at least yet.) I am talking about Claire showing up at Kate's house, Sayid killing the guy in front of the mental hospital then taking Hurley with him and Walt visiting Hurley. It was all just thrown in there almost randomly. Yes, I get that they are working toward all making a triumphant return to the island, but it was quite disjointed.

Even though I have long thought that it would either be Locke or Ben in the coffin, I was a bit shocked that it was in fact Locke. Obviously he is not dead or maybe he is dead and that brings into question what the island is in the first place being he is going to be back on it soon enough.

I am not sure I like how things are headed being it will probably take another 10-15 episodes just to get them back to the island (with lots of - "booo hoo hooo, I am never going back!" which means Jack will be wallowing around in misery (with that fake beard) for months and many of my other favorite characters will be MIA from the island and feeling sorry for themselves.

Also, the fact that the helicopter did not move with the island would seem to say that the ship that was sinking also did not move with the island (but I can almost promise you that Jin is out there floating in the ocean swimming his way toward something island like.)

Sooooo, Ben used to the time machine to break a hole in the wall so he could go behind it? Ummm, I was not impressed. And what is with it being cold down there? Was there a reason or did they just decide that since they showed him with that jacket a few episodes back that there had to be a reason why?

I felt less of "OMG - What is going on" and more of - "That is ridiculous" as the episode progressed. It is like they built out the framework for the puzzle and then jammed pieces in to fit.

Of course, I'll keep watching (and complaining.)

You know I had some of the same thoughts about the answers that were given to us. Much to pat, for Lost standards. I know they were influenced by audience reactions during the strike and some of our 'theories' seemed to be the easy answer to end this season satisfactorily.

I still enjoy the show, but I kinda of miss that WTF is going on feeling. LOL

I agree about Jin. He got off the freighter somehow. Hopefully Michael did too.

Obviously Claire is not going to get her way, and Kate will have to bring back Aaron. I'm a bit puzzled to why she came to Kate and warned her. What was it that Christian told her when he came to her, I can't remember... but I'm confused. LOL

I'm wondering if when he came to Michael just before the explosion he was there to teleport him somewhere or something

Anyway, I should be going to work now. So I gotta run.
