| Lost: Ep. 408 - Meet Kevin Johnson Lost ![]() It took me awhile to absorb and come to a conclusion about this week’s Michael centric episode. Almost the entire hour was spent off the island and in the past attempting to explain to us the revival of Michael’s character and his return to Lost world. In the end, I was disappointed and feel that the shows direction needs a major overhaul if my interest is to remain. First of all, I want to skip right to the end. Who cares that Karl died? Anyone? Anyone? I sure don’t! We had a dramatic preview at the conclusion of last week’s show telling us someone would die and that someone was Karl? Leeeeeeeeeeeet dooooooooooown. Oh, I am forgetting about that crazy French woman, right? Wrong. The interview with Karl (Blake Bashoff) on WWK this week gave the impression that she will probably crawl off into the jungle ala Naomi (but survive.) So in the end the net loss is one, and a very small one. You know that when all ABC can do is run a false flag operation to get us to tune in, even they know that the appetizers we are being fed are not cutting it and if we do not get to the entrée soon mass defections will ensue (Actually that fallout has already begun with Lost losing 20% of its audience last week.) I have read a few recaps from different websites about “Meet Kevin Johnson” and the reviews are mixed. I think the people that liked the episode were just so happy to get answers that they do not care that they are the wrong answers. I was hoping for much more grandiose plot hooks then the ones we are being provided and the proposition of yet another hostage situation with Ben’s daughter actually made me let out a sigh of “blah” as I quickly deleted this episode from my DVR and moved on to a much more entertaining show in The Celebrity Apprentice. I won’t even get into the almost impossible timeline in place (with Tom) or the fact that Kevin Johnson was able to hop right aboard the evil mastermind Widmore’s ship (no questions asked) or the fact that he was able to bring a footlocker that looked like it either had a bomb or a very big gun in it (doh!) or the fact that that Sayid listened to that entire off island story and then without a moment of rationality turned in Michael (WTF?) The absurdity hurts my head and I just don’t want to think about it. If the strike did not end and this was the final episode of the season, I would probably retire my Lost addiction and free up that time to watch something else. I feel this season has taken a dramatic turn to the ordinary (minus the great Desmond episode) and when a series makes the viewers tread water for years, we get tired. Throwing us "floaties" doesn’t cut it. Sorry for being so negative... |

| Re: Lost: Ep. 408 - Meet Kevin Johnson I had meant to post something yesterday, but I was so intent on getting caught up in Big Brother that I couldn't let my mind lose train of thought. I think I've figured out what is missing this year. The element of surprise. This is the first year that I have actively looked at Lost websites and read articles. Although I haven't gone to spoiler sites, that element of being totally out of the loop is gone. Also we must blame the strike on this one as well. The network so driven not to lose their viewers they spoiled so much with their hints and teases in their promos. Like last week, the producers were pretty miffed that ABC spoiled the death of Karl. And who the heck cares that Karl is dead???? Please. He was secondary to a secondary character. Now the crazy French Woman, Danielle is it? that was a bit of a hmmm....but she is unlikely dead at any rate. And take the return of Michael...we knew last year that he was coming back. It doesn't take rocket science to put the pieces together of the how and why. I didn't really care that Sayid turned in Michael. Knowing that Michael is being manipulated by Ben (and they are never going to convince me that the dude is good) I don't care if Michael lives or dies. Not that that's the reason for Sayid turning him in. He is using Michael as an in to get into the captain's good graces so he can kill them all. Or in the very least gain intel. I can't wait for the return of the last episodes because I know that the writers went back and revised the scripts and plot to 'fix' things based on viewer input. I just want to get to the point of them being rescued so we can get back to the damn story. |

| Re: Lost: Ep. 408 - Meet Kevin Johnson Yeah idk this season has JUST been ok for me. Everyone is still flipping a shit about it....idk.......some episodes are AMAZING. some are eh. Id prefer the show to end so I can just know everything....bc the aggrivation of not knowing outweighs the enjoyment per episode |

| Re: Lost: Ep. 408 - Meet Kevin Johnson This episode was okay... not the best of this season, but I still enjoyed seeing what Michael had been up to during the previous two seasons. My favorite part, though, was the reappearance of Libby. She was one of my favorite characters on the show (I still think she was robbed of her own flashback episode!) and it's nice to know that they haven't forgotten about her! And, oh yeah, is there confirmation on whether or not Danielle is dead? Wasn't she supposed to have her own episode at some point? |

| Re: Lost: Ep. 408 - Meet Kevin Johnson
I was not a big Libby fan either. Her getting with Hurley was just too much for me to take as the odds of them being a couple in real life are non existent, so I was not buying it. Oh...and I don't appreciate story arcs including Danielle. She is just a filler character and annoying. I have a feeling we watch for different reasons roomie.....lol. BTW: The curse lives on! Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros were arrested for DUI in December 2005 and killed off. Daniel Dae Kim was busted in October 2007 and subsequently "killed off!" |

| Re: Lost: Ep. 408 - Meet Kevin Johnson Although, the producers swear that there is no relation to the DUI's and police problems and the killings on the show, it does rather ring true doesn't it. |
