Amazing Race: Ep. 1206 - We've Really Burned Bridges, For Sure

Finally, a really tense ending! The smile on my face was ear to ear when the skinny brat and his grandpa came up spades with 717 on the counting detour! It was that moment I knew the blondes were done for, and a special moment it was!

Going back a little bit, my new favorite team TK and Rachel finished 1st, which capped off a great episode and I didn't even let the doubly obnoxious, blatant product placement get my spirits down. It is bad enough Phil does a 30 second voice over commercial at the finish line, do they really need to make an entire 15 minute hunt for the "travelocity gnome" tie-in to keep this show afloat? Shameless!

Moving on, I found a soft spot for the goths as I really am starting to like how they communicate with the people and cultures that they are in contact with on this race.

Father and Daughter were fun as usual with Ron offering up the best lines of the hour and Christina offering the best "Please God make him stop" looks.

Jennifer and Nathan continued down their self destructive path which looks to lead to their demise if the preview foreshadowing is telling us anything. Of course if I reverse psychologize that preview they are probably safe.

Oh, and is she a bitch or what? - that was rhetorical.

I hope Azaria chills out with his sister as they are not kids anymore. I don't think he gets that! He is not the boss of her even if he thinks he is......maybe she will tell him that...

Finally, it was great to see the blondes go. They did not stick around long enough for me to care to learn their names or do so via repetition although one was definitely nastier. They should add some fun to the elimination station videos and I am glad they are in Portugal rather then still in this race!

I'm not sure what was with the agent at the Air France office...did she choose not to understand the grandson or did she really not understand even after giving that same flight out to a previous team??

At any rate, it served him right I suppose...although if I were him and I did get eliminated I'd be crying fowl (but good thing I guess for him)

The blonds needed to go...hopefully Bitch and her boyfriend are next.

I don't know how it took the grandson 2 + hours to find the hair salon and it took everyone else like 10 minutes to find their 2nd delivery. Editing? Well it can't be being he was the first to arrive and the last to leave. Maybe he is as much of an idiot as I initially thought?

I think the funniest part about Nathan and Jennifer is the way their emotions turn on a dime. They were basically at each other's throats during the counting task and I thought she might pull a gun on him and then just a bit later they both have great big smiles on their faces as they cross the finish line.

I bet in that household it is all about the makeup sex..

I loved Nathan's quote as they were jogging to find the University.

"I can't believe the person you turn into...you are the ugliest person I've ever seen"

Or something to that effect.

Then later when he simply called her "Bitch" in the Detour.

Loved it.

And then she had the nerve to get all huffy and claim she had no idea where that was coming from.

There is no question that this relationship would not fall into the "healthy" category. I wonder if they get drunk together? Sounds like a scary proposition. I can't believe Nathan cheated on her and then had the balls to get back with that monster. I'd hide the freaking steak knives each night before I went to bed if I was him!
