I think Dave was bored, intimated and afraid of Dan and used Bailey as an exuse. But then again maybe he wanted to return home to get to the Hollywood's LIVE reunion show in NYC. Didn't they shoot the reunion during the same time as The Island?

The cast left for Panama on Jun 9 if I recall correctly.

Dave got overwhelmed I think by the entire thing coming down on him all at once. "The challenges aren't for everyone" as the the wise and powerful tool...I mean TJ said. It happens. Plus he was probably scared Dan would kill him in his sleep.

Oh okay, the reunion was July 12 so Dave was long gone from Panama by then..
