I have a question about the show, i know it doesn't really relate to this topic, but do people who are cast on the real world get paid? I know they can do promotions and go to clubs and make appearances after the show is over, but do they get a paycheck for just being on the actual show? It's just something i always wondered. And if so, how much?

I know with Road Rules last winter the Rookie cast members were getting $500 per week and and the veterans were getting $2000. I have also heard talk of some casts getting SAG daily rates (about $200 a day) - but who knows.

I have never actually heard the figure for the Real World, but with all of these shows they do get a stipend - although it is not substantial.

This comes as no suprise to me at all, I'm suprised it hasn't happened sooner with Jarod and Trisha.

I know what you mean, I thought they would have broken up sooner also. I really do feel bad for anyone who has a boyfriend or girlfriend go on the real world. Most likely they are going to be doing things or saying things that make the person upset. There will always be another cast member who is going to start throwing themselves upon the person even though they know they are in a relationship.. such as this new Ashli/Dunbar thing.

The thing is, MTV makes sure that they get people that are the most likely to cheat. I bet there is a question on the application or during the interview process (actually probably many questions on this subject) that ask something to the effect of, "Have you ever kissed someone other then your significant other in a romantic way while in a relationship. Would you consider cheating on your partner. Do you believe in the theory of different area code - didn't happen?"

There is no way that they would put someone on the show these days that was a lock to remain faithful. What fun would that be?
