Re: Real World Hollywood: Complete Cast

i went to high school with greg and i can honestly say that i dont think anyone who has ever met him, actually liked him (except the one person he hung out with in highschool 24/7... not sure if i can name names or i would). i had a class with him and my friend and i used to tell him off just about every day. our teacher would just laugh and wait until we were finished and the second he tried to talk she would yell at him or send him out.

This is what makes it so hard to believe that he could win the online contest. I looked at his profile on realworldcasting.com and could tell he was a disfunctional flake 10 seconds into his application video.

MTV must have cringed when they realized he was going to win and probably considered trying to find any way to disqualify him. Of course, doing that would disqualify the "fans sentiments" and would have been a serious PR disaster.

Obviously there was some serious ballot stuffing involved and it is no wonder that MTV is not doing an online contest again this year (or maybe EVER.)

I agree. There is no question that he participated in fixing the online poll. They are not that hard to manipulate if you examine the code and understand what makes them tick. Even IP regulated polls can be subverted by using more complex proxy arrays to appear to be voting from a different location each time.

Also, with the Casting Contest, the vote was extremely divided early on so it did not take a lot of cheating to move forward. With such a large field at the start, you could just pump in a thousand votes and that would move you right to the the top and into the next round.

MTV has come a long way with their polling systems in the last year, but they are still quite vulnerable. If they were serious about getting accurate samples they would be using entirely different voting technologies. For such a demographically youth bound channel, they are very slow to adopt new web technologies and when they do they choose the wrong ones (e.g. their disaster of a flash site.)

I'm glad Greg was casted. I just laugh at him each time the camera pans his way.

yeah well i think when it got down to the second to last round, mtv actually were the ones to narrow it down (i think to 10 people) through an interview on the phone or skype or something. for one reason or another, they got rid of the guy who was in a very close second place, and kept greg. if mtv did do this to themselves, obviously they made a huge mistake...

and i dont know why he would chose a modeling gig over his job on RW because the camera actually makes him look half decent, but he's not attractive in the least in person. i've been told through a friend that he's back at the university of florida studying criminology now and i think it's in his best interest to hang up the modeling career and just got ahead with school.

Quinton is a douche magnet. I usually just ignore his pathetic attention seeking.
