Re: Real World: Cat Fight - Parisa Pushes Trisha

Is that really why we have this god awful cast? Because Viacom/MTV fired people in Februar? Honestly, I really hope so...because there has to be some sort of excuse for these 4 awful, awful humans being allowed to display their total crap every week for millions--without reprocutions.
WHO can I write a letter of complaint to about this?? I mean, obviously TRW would never have won an emmy or anything, but for crying out loud...this season is a whole new low.
Remember the first real world in NYC? Actual conversations/discussions...more understanidng/growth, less editing. And no potential spouse abusers!! (Dude, I would call him "Dummy Bear" except I'm afraid he'll beat Julie up for it since she was clearly the one who didn't respect his wishes and made it a thing.) ;-)

I think as soon as they started getting footage this season they knew right away it was going to be a serious failure. That is why they are going back to LA and have announced they are doing a show with a focus on jobs like the first season in New York.

What is the point of the current cast anyway? If they wanted another Vegas season they could have at least gotten hot people!

As for saying Dummybear - Hmmm, you have me thinking. It really might be putting Julie in imminent danger as "It's all her fault!"

Scary but true....

Re: Real World: Cat Fight - Parisa Pushes Trisha

Bacchus, I was just thinking about the Vegas cast earlier today. I can't possibly compare that cast with the Sydney one...In Vegas there was a variety of folks there from all walks of life...far more complicated, interesting and racially diverse. Plus, I was thinking about when Bren threw the fork at Stephen (or whatever his name is) and he was so dead set on sending her home, the rest of the cast was kind to her ...he was a little abusive to her, as a recall, saying after he decided to throw her out--though she was sobbing, admitted that she has a crush on him, and begged him not to--"Now tell me that you messed up your life. Say it's all your fault and you messed up!" (Something along those lines...) Anyway, his castmates totally called him out on that shit, standing up for her.
No one stands up for Parisa!! I mean....Coh. and Isaac do in their own quiet ways...but it's just not enough. I'm still completely confused as to why Parisa got ****hed out for not making one of thse girls (the two blondes look a lot alike to me...so I haven't a clue who it was) an egg, tomato and cheese sandwich made to order...
And now you say that Ashli and Kelly Anne SPIT on Parisa as retaliation for sending Parisa home?? It's just crazy, and I can't believe MTV has compiled this cast. We can get drama and high ratings without featuring racist, homophobic, wife beating trash.
anywho...I just wanted to defend the Vegas cast somewhat.

I am not saying I didn't like the Vegas cast, they were very likable, it's just that they were put in a mega bar/casino and expected to get drunk and have sex. That was the premise of the season. The beginning of the end of The Real World.

If you are going to stick 7 strangers in a plain old regular house (albeit in a foreign country) and be devoid of the model good looks and wild and crazy ways of Vegas, then at least get smart people - or people with real issues. I am not talking about issues that can be managed with cocktail of lithium and Zoloft, I am talking about political, ethnic, racial, sexist and generational issues that were once the staple of this show.

So, I am not trying to compare this cast to Vegas which I can agree where racially diverse, interesting, good people. I am just saying that because the show has become bereft of anything real, they might as well stick them back in a decadent casino and upgrade on the looks.

Re: Real World: Cat Fight - Parisa Pushes Trisha

I was wondering, in the earlier seasons wasn't the age cutoff older?? Like on RW New York it seemed like possibly Norm and uhhh.. the rapper lady (can't think of her name) definitely looked older than 24 or whatever the cutoff age is today. Also, Irene from season 2 seemed older as well. I don't know if it's that time has changed that much, or if Mtv only casts the hard core partying and 'easy' type, or if because the casts usually seem to be younger and are less responsible and goal oriented, or if all of the above has contributed to all of the changes. I think if they made it a twenty something show of all ages there might once again be a little more range and depth to the cast members. But I guess they don't want another situation like season 3 where they cast a med school student who was basically never there.

Re: Real World: Cat Fight - Parisa Pushes Trisha

Yeah, really. Very disgusting. It makes me really angry when I see the preview for next weeks episode.
KellyAnne is a worthless. She's not even a true friend to Parisa. I hope Parisa knows this.
Trisha is a slob. How self centered is she?! She's not even sorry for using violence towards another human being. Christian my behind. Editing is to blame to make it look like she kissed another man? How crazy is she.
These girls are embarrassing. I don't even want to call them women. To think, these are the females of the next generation, how sad.
It's kind of weird because I'm in Cali, 23 years old. And I watch the Real World thinking that these people were older. I don't know, I look pretty young for a 23y/o. The way they act, it's pretty awful. Parisa, Cohutta, and Issac are my faves. I hope we see them stand up for her.
Oh! And until I saw the posts stating that they know for a fact Trisha was sent home, I was thinking MTV was maybe manipulating the whole thing on purpose, like deleting Trisha's picture from the Real World home page on MTV.com. Maybe Parisa doesn't send Trisha home and this was all just to make us watch! But that all went out the window when I read the post.
Yay, Trisha goes home!

Maybe MTV should hire someone that smart to run a Real World viral marketing campaign! The reality of it is the web team over at MTV is notorious for leaking things on accident. If Myspace is spoiler gold, MT'V's own incompetence with their website is spoiler silver for sure!

The most memorable incident was during road rules viewers revenge when they released the episode blogs saying what happened two days before the show aired. Gotta love it!
