Bunim-Murray Productions has once again extended the submission deadline for video tapes and also announced open casting calls for the upcoming season of The Real World. I wonder why they keep pushing the deadline? Obviously they are not finding what they are looking for!

Remember to include your name, age, and contact information. If possible, please write it somewhere on the tape. See our TIPs for information on how to make an audition tape. We prefer submissions on VHS and VHS C, but we will also accept Mini-DV, Hi-8, and DVD. No CD-ROMs, please. If you submit on DVD, you MUST submit a full-size DVD that is playable in a standard DVD player. TEST this before sending it in. If your disk won't play, we WILL NOT notify you and it goes in the trash. Anyone between the ages of 18 and 24 may apply.

Ughhhhhhhhhhh, I wanna be on this show, but I dont wanna send a tape in! I was hoping that they would do an Open Call Cast in Atlanta. I think I have a better chance at an OCC than sending in a tape, what do you guys think?

you could send it in on that website like I did.....idk, same as a tape though. If they dont add an Atlanta date.....just make a tape! theres really nothing to lose

Real World 21 casting for activists, “people who are passionate about the world,” have “depth”

Although years have passed since anyone cared about The Real World, and The Hills now defines the network, MTV has renewed its once-groundbreaking series for a 21st season and producers are searching for seven people, including those who are activists or have “depth.”
Casting director Damon Furberg told me that producers “are once again looking for people with career goals — this time not specifically entertainment-related,” including “‘activists’ who are passionate about political, social, or environmental causes.” He added that “these qualities are not a requirement—just something were looking out for.”
The Hollywood-set season searched for people with entertainment industry career aspirations, and that focus on finding people with actual lives is continuing because, as Furberg said, “we’re generally looking to attract some depth this season, and the easiest way to express that is by asking for people who are passionate about the world around them and have an aspiration, cause or a political issue that is important to them.”
Those interested in applying should sober up—or not!—and send in a video, attend an open casting call, or, in a series first, upload a digital video. The deadline for submitting tapes is Jan. 28.

I think this pretty much confirms that RW:21 production will be held in Washington DC. Anyone on my Train? Doesnt it make sense to tape the show during Elections in DC?
