I totally enjoyed the premiere, I think it was a fresh start, really dont want to consider JEK the stars of the challenge that just increases their egos and think that a challenge is not possible without them, but even if I don't like them some people do and I'm pretty sure they don't watch it because they are not in. I def see CT as one of the "lifesavers" of this shows, there's just some fascination around him that makes him interesting to watch, I know a couple of buddies that just watched Rivals bc JEK and CT were there, and now they just don't watch this new one because there's no one familiar. I just think there are a lot of people that really don't know who the new kids are, and that affected the ratings, also the little promotion they gave to the show didn't help. I really hope the ratings get better.

I doubt they will really be dumb enough to air an episode the night before Thanksgiving, no other Wednesday show does that, I know Survivor doesn't, they usually air a recap that week. These past few years when that's happened, MTV didn't show new episodes of RW or the Challenge (whichever was on at the time), so I honestly don't think they would do that this year with this challenge.
Then again, considering they did show an episode on Fourth of July this year, I guess you never really know?

I'm guessing the majority of viewers who don't watch anymore probably would say it's because the concept is stale, and the same stuff happens every season. It happens with every show. I still watch TRW/Challenges but after 15 years it's mostly from habit (my first season viewed while on-air was Boston). I wouldn't say anything ever happens that surprises or strongly entertains me anymore.

You obvious arent watching SVU as it does not do the same thing every week. However you're right about the challenges.

And if a WGWTG wins AI again I will be through with it.

Aren't these ratings still good enough to renew? Teen Mom and Jersey Shore got old and MTV doesn't have anything else that would get better ratings than RW and the Challenge. Plus scripted shows cost more to produce.

Chances are MTV will come up with some other show that does better in ratings within the next year or so. Awkward seems to be doing well, but since it's a high school show, chances are once the characters graduate the show will end, or they will unsuccessfully try to continue it with them out of high school, don't know yet, we'll see...
