Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons - Ratings
Wednesday's game 3 of Yankees vs. Orioles had the most viewers of any cable show that day with 5.777 million viewers. Thursday's game had 5.155 million viewers, only slightly behind football and a good amount behind all of the debate coverage.
Next Wednesday will be game 4 of the ALCS so expect that to be a big number.

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons - Ratings
Baseball is a factor, American Horror Story will be a factor, Nashville likely will be a factor, Chicago Fire likely won't after their premier ratings, etc
They still have to find a way to bring in viewers. If Battle of the Exes could bring in around 2M why can't this season? It isn't just what else is being aired. I mean, that can't be an excuse weekly.

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons - Ratings
If the last two seasons didn't do well then why the hell would they include both seasons on this challenge? This was simply poorly planned. Then they made it worse by having 2 of the first 4 missions being awful
And, yes, I'm aware the last season started in February but there's bigger issues here than the competition. At least they'll probably be renewed regardless--hopefully they learn from this or the show won't last much longer.

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons - Ratings
This challenge sucks because the cast that's there is basically making a mockery of the competition aspect of the show. It's a couple teams making sure one of the teams in their alliance wins...and the challenges are set up where it's pretty easy to throw them one way or the other to ensure that a specific team in your alliance wins.
At least in the past with like Rivals where 3 teams were together, aside from dictating the participation order, there really wasn't much that could be done as far as a team or teams being able to control the outcome of a challenge on that given day. It was still "may the best team win" for the most part. And the teams that are getting gunned for this season have no thoroughbreds that can overcome the odds & make the shows remotely intriguing by presenting a remote chance of winning.
