Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons - Discussion (Spoilers)
It looks to me like it was only 1/2 of St. Thomas. Having the winning team select which team goes in really removes a lot of power from an alliance. Even if the other 4.5 seasons had a larger alliance in the beginning, it doesn't matter if a team from a smaller alliance wins the first challenge.

Oh Wes. Can't believe that the only man which I really support on this one goes home first. This sucks.

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons - Discussion (Spoilers)
I just feel like Alliances play into the very important social aspect of the game. Last person I really remember trying to go into the game without a heavy alliance was Landon in Duel 2, and in the end that screwed him the second he left the room to get a hat. Fresh Meat 2 he learned his lesson and teamed with Wes. It's incredibly easy to shift or control the game in an alliance, and according to previous posts it obviously worked seeing who went home early and who didn't from the alliance.
Oh wait, and CT wasn't in an alliance on Rivals and although he almost made it, he went home. Then he sort of teamed with Johnny with things, even though the main alliance was Johnny, Paula, Mark to make it to the end.

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons - Discussion (Spoilers)
Does anyone fear that the ratings will plummet without Wes? The season is so going to be uploaded on the web and titled the "The challenge: battle of the seasons (the lost season)". *weeps*
I'm totally kidding but after he leaves things will get interesting.

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Seasons - Discussion (Spoilers)
I think the ratings will take a hit, but because of the immense success of the past two seasons, they'll do fine. The show had 2.2 million viewers on the second episode of Exes, and then dropped to 1.9 million the third episode, although they really played up the whole Vinny thing, so a lot of online viewers probably tuned in live for that one. On Fresh Meat 2, the episode where he was eliminated had 1.2 million viewers, and the one after only .95 million.
I think the ratings will do fine for three reasons: 1. Based on other characters viewers haven't seen on a challenge before, such as Nany, Jemmye, Frank, and Marie. 2. Bringing back Trishelle and Alton may bring back a few viewers back from the days of The Infernos. And 3. Every real world season is different and has different viewers, and this is what brings ALL those fans together.
