Everyone knows that a reality tv romance does not have a high success rate after the show. I totally agree with this. However, when I here this phenomenon being discussed Eric and Jessica from BB8 are used as an example.

I don't think they are a good example at all. I would call their shomance a success. They last around a year which is a lot longer than most relationships that begin under more normal circumstances. Of course I was a fan of the shomance (maybe it was because the stereotypical hottie went for a more average type guy).

Now I know a lot of you do not like Jeric. Try to put that aside and comment on your opinion of the success (or lack thereof) of their relationship.

I admit it, I was not a fan of Jeric - but agree with the point you have made. They were a television romance that worked outside of the house, otherwise known as a "relationship."

This shomance phenomena would be more aptly applied to Will & Janelle or Boogey & Erica. The only purpose of the relationship was for the sake of the game. Once the show ended, they moved their separate ways.

Most shomances never evolve into anything past the show and just serve the purpose within the game. Jeric was an example that it grew into something outside the house and I think you could tell that during the game. I was a fan of it but usually never get into shomances especially the one this year.
