As I said, this was a walk down "Metaphysical Lane," that murky place where day and night and right an wrong meet and nothing is seen clearly. I think you took a different street in your response. In the abstract, if one person were so drunk so as not to know that she had some sort of physical relationship with someone, must she believe it happened? If she did not possess the mental capacity at the time to know the difference between right an wrong and her body simply responded to external stimulus, do we award her the scarlet letter? (I don't necessarily believe this, but there is value in looking at things from Robin's perspective.)
As for Robin's relationships, as I wrote, this was not one. It didn't exist before the challenge, it doubtful it can be called a relationship during the challenge, and it certainly didn't survive the challenge. The relationship with Mark Long existed before, during and after a challenge, and might well be regarded as a lasting one. At the time, it probably was a record relationship for Mark, and maybe even for Robin. |
I agree, maybe she was too far beyond being able to control anything she was doing, but I myself would still consider it cheating if I had done anything sexual or physical with another person. I don't think she deserves the scarlet letter. I think she should just realize that while heavily intoxicated your body doesn't know what to respond to or not and to be careful of the things done and said while in a relationship.
I know it wasn't a relationship, but they had some altercations while on The Island. I agree. I liked their relationship and it went on for a while, but it was filled with drama. I just think she doesn't have the easiest of relationships or even friendships with the people in the Challenges from what I've seen.
How close? Within feet, inches, hours, minutes, seconds? I have no idea; we'll have to see how it is edited and then wait for the cast to tell the larger story. I'm not aware that anyone other than Derrick attempted to calm Dan. I have heard that two male veterans encouraged him to physically go after Dave. It's one tried and true way of eliminating one's competition without having to face him or her yourself. |
Derrick is such a good guy. Kenny and Abe are such jerks. I was somewhat looking forward to seeing him, but that is totally rude.
