| The Duel II: New Zealand Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Duel II (New Zealand) is the seventeenth season of the reality television competition series, Real World/Road Rules Challenge on MTV and will take place in New Zealand. ![]() New Zealand, an island country in the south-western Pacific Ocean comprising two main landmasses (the North Island and the South Island) and numerous smaller islands, is know for its climatological diversity - so the shooting location of the challenge could presumably comprise anything from rain forests, to high mountain to beaches. The cast is to depart October 27th and return in early December. We expect it will premiere spring 2009 at 10pm ET/PT on Wednesdays, most likely following the completion of The Real World Brooklyn. Like previous seasons of the Challenge, it will feature cast members from various past seasons of The Real World and Road Rules, of which The Challenge is a spinoff. The cast will be comprised of 14 men and 14 women. This is a work in progress and updates will be made as information is received. The 26 listed are confirmed as being spotted en route to Auckland. Girls: 1. Kimberly Alexander - The Real World Hollywood 2. Shauvon Torres - The Real World Sydney 3. Brooke Labarbera - The Real World Denver 4. Jenn Grijalva - The Real World Denver 5. Paula Meronek - The Real World Key West 6. Rachel Robinson - Road Rules: Campus Crawl 7. Tori Hall - Road Rules: Viewer's Revenge 8. Katie Doyle - Road Rules: The Quest 9. Eric Banks - RW/RR Challenge: Fresh Meat 14. M.J. Garrett - The Real World Philadelphia (replacement) ![]() World Famous Milford Sound Duel Format (From the original Duel. The format as usual may be altered for the sequel.) At the start of each episode, the cast is told of the days event, and the host announces whether the male or female cast members will compete in the Duel that night. The competitive events can involve either members of the same gender competing against each other, or groups of both men and women competing against each other. Each challenge has both a male and female winner. The winner of the gender not slated for the Duel is given a prize, while the other winner is safe from having to enter the Duel that evening. The safe contestant begins a voting process by selecting a member of the opposite gender, who then selects a member of the original gender. This process continues until there is one person remaining of the given Duel gender. That person then selects a competitor of the same gender to go against him/her that night, along with randomly selecting which competition will occur. Note: The selection process occurs immediately after the challenge, and unlike other formats there is not a period of deliberation between the end of the challenge and the selection of the contestants for the elimination game. The loser of the Duel is eliminated from the game. |

| re: The Duel II: New Zealand Reading some of these names has made me a very happy person. For the girls, I'm really excited to see Katie, Tori and Aneessa. I could go without seeing Paula again, but I'm sure I'll survive. As for the guys, I'm very excited! I am happy to see Brad again and I really hope he gets a win on this one. I'm also glad that Nick is on the list and CT as well. I'm even alright with Evan being there. I can't wait to see the rest of the cast. Thanks Bacchus! | re: The Duel II: New Zealand I'm excited to see Rachel back, of course Katie (that's for you Golden), Tori, and even Diem. I'm really excited about the male cast - Brad always like, i can't believe Mark would be coming back, David Leech was entertaining on his season, of course Nick and it will be awesome to see Issac. Personally, my loyalty lies with the one everyone loves to hate. CT. Just can't help myself. This could be a great challenge. |

| re: The Duel II: New Zealand Thanks for the info. I have to say, looking at this casting list that is actually good. Some of the girls, provide very good drama, and as far as the guys are concern, most of them I think are really good competitors, and if there is going to be any elimitation rounds, I bet those are going to be really good. |

| re: The Duel II: New Zealand I'm so glad they're mixing some of the true vets (Mark, Katie, Rachel, Aneesa). I'm glad Brad and CT are back after rumors are going around they retired...Mark! Kim, Shauvon, Issac, NICK, and David are some interesting rookies. (I thought we would never see David again after he leeked info). And I'm glad to see recurring players like, Adam, Davis, Tori (I thought we wouldn't see her again), Jenn and Brooke. This season is going to be good because CT and Diem are no longer, Bananas isn't there (for the first time), Ev can't dominate the women, FEWER FRESH MEAT HEADS! |
