Okay. Yeah, even watching the show she seemed somewhat miserable. I hope she would do a last challenge as a sort of "last hurrah." Just so she can announce a retirement from the Challenges, somewhat like Timmy on I3.

Still, she has every right to change her mind, but I think there are other market forces at work that argue against much more "Old School" involvement with MTV.

I hate to tell BMP, but there is a reason that their ratings have declined on the Challenges...they're not getting their "target demographic" as much as they use to. These little teeny boppers today are more into The Hills and Tila Tequilla or some such nonsense. The real viewers of these Challenges are the Veteran viewers such as myself...thats why we want to see the people we grew up loving or hating. Fresh Meat was the downfall in my opinion...introducing fresh new faces and having these little dweebs plot to overthrow the vets that we tune in to watch. In all actuality, were it not for Coral, Beth, Brad, and maybe CT...I would not have watched Gauntlet 3 after the sleeper known as Inferno 3.

I missed the G3 taping, but I was on the phone with friends in the green room before and after the show. I heard about lots of stuff that happened that was not edited into the final show. It was the first one I've missed in a while. I go when I have a client(s) in the cast. I'm sure I'll be there for the next challenge reunion, and hopefully with a winner.

Coral is a legend I think BMP should get with Coral and develope a challenge to more of her liking so at least she can go out on a better note. I really wish Coral would take the Beth approach and perform to she is over 40 because without her these challenges aren't much to watch. However she could just be aiming to get leverage for a bigger payday to do another challenge.

Unfortunately, while I agree completely with your sentiment, there are a couple of factors standing in the way of your suggestions. The first is that MTV can not have BMP design a challenge with Coral involved or even with Coral in mind. That would represent a clear violation of The Game Show Act. Secondly, there are only two pay scales for the challenges: one for rookies and one for veterans. Cast members who use good contract negotiatiators know that there will always be a "favored nation" clause that enures that he/she receives the same pay as the highest paid person -- rookie or veteran. MTV and BMP are too cheap to pay anything like Surreal Life does for its reality person: $75K, or what Celebrity Fit Club pays, $50K.

PS. Beth is not 40, no matter how many time Evan and Kenny say it. It is surprising that now at 39 she is so much better conditioned than many on the challenges.
