It's not true.
There were two potential replacements under contract for a week each, Kendall and Evan. They were to be available if anyone quit the first week as a result of the conditions. (We heard several cast members mention being on the island for 10 days, which means that BMP anticipated that someone might quit before or just as the program taping began).

Dave does not say that Evan replace Dan. He does not say Dan left. I'm not sure if Andy3000 was attempting to use Dave as evidence to support Evan being on the challenge. I doubt it. "His replacement was Evan" is poor grammar. It would have better communicated his intent as "His replacement would have been Evan."
Of course, the suggestion begs the question, "Why was Dave not replaced by Evan?" But I'll leave the chasm in that logic trail to your own imagination.
