Re: The Island: MTV - Rules of the Game

Random question, Why wasn't Jo replaced when she left the Gauntlet 2?

The Island is the first time I have ever been able to prove that someone was actually contracted to be a ready replacement in the first week. I think that MJ in Gauntlet 3 and Derrick in Inferno 3 were lucky finds and were not under contract to come in to the show. I know that for I3, Derrick had signed to appear in a club in Tampa on the Friday he arrived in South Africa to replace CT.

In Jo's case, I don't have any facts to offer, but because she went home first, there was enough dramatic video in that instance to negate bringing someone in. In fact, one could argue that from a first episode perspective, it was almost like it was better for the show.

Whether you like him or not (I am not fond of him after Gauntlet 3), you have to admit he is a very good competitor.

He may be an ok competitor.. but the only good one?

Kenny's record isn't bad...

Fresh Meat.... finished 2nd.. he MORE than proved himself there.
Inferno III.... made it to the end... bad asses won.. right? Don't remember.
Gauntlet 3... We all know what happened there...
The Island.... He's dominating the game... and he competed VERY well on his face-off.

The only show he didn't compete well on was the Duel.

Has Evan won anything?

She is definitely a whole lot of talk. She and Evan dominated FM, and I know it takes two to tango, but I really wonder how well she would have done with a different partner.

I agree.. I think that was mostly Evan. I still love Coral though. She's in my top 3 girls.

although evan has never won anything, he is a great competitor. On freshmeat him and coral won most of the challenges until they got injured. On the duel he won more individual challenges than any of the guys. I dont think he performed too well on gauntlet 3. he tried to be the leader but he was not.
