What ever happened to the public retirement statement that people gave. They gave us some warning, Mark and Eric did it and said when their final challenge was.

Timmy did it......these days people just leave and we happen to hear they are retired.

Not every cast member is invited to the reunion shows following their challenge. Similarly, not every cast member knew when they were on a challenge that it would be there last. There really is no other practical venue to make any such announcement other than to plan to make it during a challenge, or last long enough or do something dramatic enough to get invited to the reunion show.
