Pushing Daisies: Ep. 09 - Corspicle This episode was a lot darker than normal. Very glummy and I think a lot of their normal wry humor failed to lighten the mood. Ned was beyond depressed the whole episode! Not that Lee Pace didn't pull it off. It's just I like this show because of it's quirkiness and with Ned mopping around for 42/43 minutes just didn't make me feel the 'feel good inside' I always feel. Sure Chuck has every right to be upset that Ned inadvertently killed her father but he just came off so needy and lost without her. It made me feel sad for him. He's got no one. And Emerson is usually much more funny with his sarcasm and that thing he does. But even for him it was a bit dark. Although I did chuckle when he thought Ned had brought him back to life. I was totally confused with Chuck and "Pee Wee" she doesn't want to tell him the secret or confirm his hypothesis but she gives him her hair anyway...then in the end decides not to tell him again... just very pointless. Although, I get that it was just a process of her accepting Ned's involvement with the loss of her father and for her to continue to be with him. Then to have Ned have to interrupt Chuck when she is asking him to bring back her dad, was hard. I can't believe she would ask that? He's been buried 30 some years!!!! Ewww why would you want him to come back like that? But good for Ned to say No, no way. And then the shocker ending. Wow. I didn't see that coming. I'm not sure why. LOL I'd like to see to learn more of the back story on that. (I'm being vague here just in case Bacchus is reading and didn't watch yet.

Re: Pushing Daisies: Ep. 09 - Corspicle I passively watched this episode and have to agree with you that they were off their game this week. The real enjoyment garnered from this series is the morbid comedy at every corner. With our lead characters both being mopey, there was little to laugh at given the otherwise serious subjects of death and a heart transplant intertwined into the storyline. The whole Pee Wee part was a blur to me. I really tuned out and didn't see the point. I will give them points for shocking the hell out of me. She is Chucks mother? OMG! Even the best of shows sometimes drop a dud on fans and Pushing Daisies has been consistent enough so far that I'll cut them some slack for this abberation and look forward to the next installment, especially with the nugget at the end.

Re: Pushing Daisies: Ep. 09 - Corspicle Daisies was really the only "hit" in my opinion, this fall season. There were a handful of "good" shows, but this one felt fresh, alive and different. I can't wait to see where things go next (it might be 2009-2010 by then, but I still can't wait!)
