| Pushing Daisies: Ep. 01 - Pie-lette I watched this tonight and I will say that it met expectations, if not exceeded them. Of course, with the bevy of less then stellar new shows this fall, it really doesn't take much to impress me! There was a feel to Pushing Daisies, a texture, that covered each moment of every scene that was different. I am not sure how to explain it other then to say it was a "good" different. A shroud of wonderment was inherent in the dialog which is something that I have not experienced in a long time from a entertainment piece on television. This week was really focused on setting up the rest of the season in explaining his gift, how he met his partner, the back story with his first kiss and the rules of bringing back people from the dead. I found the level of mystery presented in the first episode acceptable and the all encompassing foundation for the future was laid out with precision. With the off kilter premise, there are many great places that this story can go if the writing team takes care to not travel to far off the beaten path while at the same time bringing us magic in each episode. I think we have a winner. Last edited by Bacchus; 10-05-2007 at 04:20 PM. |

| Re: Pushing Daisey's Episode One They were talking about this show on the radio today, and I have heard nothing but good things. I'm bummed I missed it, do you think they'll replay the first episode before next Wed? |

| I just finished watching... Am I hearing things...the narrator is the same voice from Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events? (Nevermind! I just IMDB'd and I was dead wrong. Jim Dale is the narrator in this series) But the voice is very Lemony Snicket-like. Don't you think? And the style of the show is very much Lemony Snicket-like too. Which is different for a good change of taste. While I really didn't care for what they did with the LS movie, I enjoyed the style in Pushing Daisies. I don't think the mysteries will ever be serious or dark in nature. There will always be tongue in cheek and that kind of thing. I will be watching from week to week. |

I wonder what is going to happen with the premise where he can not touch her. They are obviously going to fall deeply in love. Eventually we are gong to want them together, right? Will there be a super secret way to make her immune from his death touch? I'm dying to know! |
