Oh please let it be over! We need Lost to get back into production before these 8 episodes run dry!

Re: Writers Strike Over?

I thought I heard on the radio (around 7pm...world news) that the strike was over and they'd resume work on Monday. Now I'm not saying for sure, that's what it sounded like, could have been the strike could be over and if it was they'd start back on Monday. Confirmed: News just said a tentative deal has been reached!!!!!!

But here's the bad news:

I read on EW yesterday from Tim Kring (Heroes), that if the strike ends now, they could only produce three new episodes. He doesn't like the idea of doing only three, but his hands are tied and it's not his decision.

As for Lost and Grey's Anatomy...they are saying it could take up to 4 weeks to get back into production and only squeak out 4 or 5 episodes before the season ends in May.

You can read the full article if you want more information.

Re: Writers Strike Over?

Well you figure that 5 episodes of Lost + 8 in the can is almost where they were planning on going with this season in the first place. As for all the other shows, it sucks. Just a few teaser episodes won't do a thing for me. I'd rather they just wait until next fall. What good would it do to start a new story arc with Heroes and have a finale 2 episodes later?!!

I think the best news is that there will now be a pilot season, which means there is a chance that maybe a few breakout hits can be imagined and created before next fall. This seasons crop sucked overall. Sure I like Daisies and DSM, but I hardly missed them while they were gone, and I really don't look forward to them (although I will watch when they return.) Shows like Lost Grey's Anatomy and Heroes are in a different league, at least for me personally, and nothing of that caliber was put forth last fall.

Actually, ratings were really sucking for everything before the strike. Maybe the strike was the nail in the coffin for scripted television and now we will see a slow phase over to reality shows just like daytime television went to game shows/talk shows with the decline of Soaps.
