    Rue McClanahan dies at 76

    From the LA Times,

NEW YORK (AP) Rue McClanahan, the Emmy-winning actress who brought the sexually liberated Southern belle Blanche Devereaux to life on the hit TV series "The Golden Girls," has died. She was 76.

Her manager Barbara Lawrence said McClanahan died Thursday at 1 a.m. of a stroke.

She had undergone treatment for breast cancer in 1997 and later lectured to cancer support groups on " aging gracefully." In 2009, she had heart bypass surgery.
Rest in peace Rue. You always made me laugh as Blanche in The Golden Girls.

Wow, Betty White is the only one left now. R.I.P Rue. The Golden Girls will forever be a timeless classic.

Til this day, I can watch and still laugh. I know some episodes by heart now.

I'm with you. I love this show. It's great because I can watch with my mom and laugh... but I can also watch with my girlfriends and giggle. The show, and the actresses definitely crossed barriers.
