Haha! Yes, I am also amongst the converted. No more Zeus, Hera, Athena, Poseidon, Ares, Apollo etc for me if I can just get some damn Cylon on Cylon action tonight!

Re: Battlestar Galactica: Season 4

There is nothing to write home about concerning last night's episode. Although we did stay out of the senate which I find to be the most grueling, the time aboard the Dimitrius was less then eventful and I just can't get into this new Baltar shtick.

The good news is that I think we are on the cusp of a great episode. The preview for next week seems to show that Starbuck does jump to the basestar (maybe in a viper?) and speak to the hybrid. The bad news is that the hybrid tells her that she is going to lead humanity to its end! Noooooooo! There has to be another destiny for Thrace! Please don't take us down that path. Please...

In the back of my mind I am starting to believe it. I read this:
Quote:
Edward James Olmos, who plays Adm. William Adama on SCI FI Channel's series Battlestar Galactica, told SCI FI Wire that it's not inconceivable that all of the characters will die by the end of the upcoming fourth and final season--and that would be OK with him.

Not that that is in any way a spoiler for the upcoming season. But Olmos said it would be fitting for a show that he called a "commentary on our times" and the "most worthwhile piece of television" he has ever done.

"Basically, if it’s true to form, no one makes it," Olmos said in an interview at SCI FI's upfront presentation to advertisers in New York earlier this month.

Producers have been tight-lipped about their plans for the show's climax and dénouement, though it's believed that the fourth season will take up the sudden reappearance of Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) and her revelation that she's been to Earth. Meanwhile, four people must deal with the sudden knowledge that they are Cylons.

If everyone were to die? "I think that people would be shocked, and they'd be hurt, and they would be totally, totally frustrated," Olmos said. "But I've got to tell you, that's a truth that people have to realize. We may do it to ourselves [in real life]. It all depends on us now and what choices we make."
I am depressed.

I was thinking the exact same thing as I watched. I am just not intrigued by who he is as a character at this point. It is almost as bad as Lee and the senate to me.

If we spend the week fasting/praying do you think it would help?

Why, Oh why would they end it this way? It kind of is the new trend in entertainment though... stories with happy endings are becoming a thing of the past.

Re: Battlestar Galactica: Season 4

I just finished reading the recap over at Entertainment Weekly and he came to the same conclusion as we did: Shit happened. We don't care. Bring back the Battlestar we love. Please next week don't suck!

I found a great (however long) blog on who the final Cylon is on Battlestar. An interesting read if you feel like giving the theory a spin. I went where I would have never thought.

Could be considered spoilerish:
Cellounge - The Final Cylon Will Be Revealed Now!

You weren't lying about it being a long post. Very interesting. I would rather it be her than Lee!

Me too. It makes sense, but who knows. The most intricate of theories are usually the most intricately wrong.

I guess we will have to wait until this time next year to find out.

Re: Battlestar Galactica: Season 4

I thought that last night's episode was a step in the right direction. We actually touched upon plot points that made sense and also they were areas were I wanted to see the story go (beyond more Baltar/One God ramblings.) On that note, things are still slow. I think I would be better off skipping a week and watching two episodes at once in order to get a sense of forward progress.

Everything on the Base Star was awesome. I really wanted to see Sam try and interface with the ship, but knew it was not going to happen. The fact that the "five" are connected to helping the cause was good to hear, although I am still a bit weary as to how it is all going to go down.

What did the hybrid mean about Starbuck leading them to their doom? I wonder if humans and cylons die as separate entities, but the cy-human childern live on creating a new society. That would be a sad ending.

UGH! This is so painful. It is like crocheting a sweater. It takes forever (and is boring to most) but the end product is worth the wait (I hope.)

Umm- I think last nights episode was worse than crocheting a sweater. I do not like Lee in politcs, I can't stand prophetic Baltar, I wish the President would hurry up and die or something and the singing (while I was impressed by the voice) was really grating on my nerves.

I almost want to give up on the show completely. I know that I won't, I am still waiting for the story to move forward and give some much needed answers. I am just discouraged because I get the feeling they are going to leave us hanging until the 2nd half of the final season to give us ANYTHING...

I want my BSG back!
