Sooooooooooooooo back to the original question, CBS did a contest for tix but it ended yesterday. Someone on Yahoo Answers said to keep an eye out on CBS, though its likely too late now. Aaaand another posting I read says the in-studio audience is rather small and mostly media, family, friends, etc.

It is cool that the jury members were able to do some touring of historical World War II battle sites while in sequester. Peleliu looked like an awesome day trip for the historically inclined, although its current sanguine peacefulness as a tropical paradise sure was different in 1944!
