Tell us what you're listening to!
We need more music talk on here! In no particular order, this is what I'm listening to...and I'd love to know what you're spinnin' as welllll 1. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz (new album, i literally can't take it out of my car or i feel separation anxiety haha "Zero" and "Dull Life" and "Hysteric"...its all magical haha) 2. Lady Sovereign - Jigsaw (I'll be the first to admit that she's not for everyone...but the beats and production on this new album is way better than the last...and I think her voice/songs are less grating...even though personally I loved "Public Warning") 3. Buffalo Killers - Self-titled and Let It Ride (My old boss turned me on to these guys...they were formerly known as Thee Shams, very classic-rock/blusey sounding...but in a contemporary sound. Think Kings of Leon, maybe?) 4. Heartless Bastards - The Mountain (contemporary/classic sounds, similar to Buffalo Killers but a little more edgy and rough around the edges in its delivery) 5. Lykke Li - Youth Novels (just heard this for the first time today, but I love it!) 6. Still diggin' deep into the Pixies collection and loving it intensely (though sadly, not into the solo stuff yet...) 7. the new NO DOUBT song "Stand and Deliver" 8. new Bif Naked songs that I got from pre-ordering her new album...they're up on her MySpace 9. Bad Religion - How Could Hell Be Any Worse (picked it up at Newbury Comics a few weeks back...i love BR and i'm on a quest to buy everything they've ever done. ever.)
OMG, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have a new CD???????? I SO gotta get that...LOVE Karen O! I like Lady Soverign as well...and Biff naked. I wish I could break down new music I listen to, but I never get to...if I am lucky and there is no 17 year old then I get control of my car radio but I am always flapping my gums on the phone that I don't even really listen. I think the last CD I bought was like the last Tool Album....or maybe Korn. I do really enjoy a lot of old school stuff...I am just going to list some of my fav bands in no particular order... Yeah Yeah Yeahs The Killers Billy Idol Nirvana Pink Floyd The Doors Rolling Stones No Doubt Kylie Minogue Shiny Toy Guns Blue October 30 seconds to Mars Pantera 10 Years Britney Spears (yeah I said it, LOL...I hated her until Boys/Toxic) Pink Kelly Clarkson Alicia Keys Led Zepplin 311 Man, I could go on and on, LOL. I will add more soon, but I am running out of time to type at work :D

I will have to add some when I am am in a different state of mind ;) I love these ones too, Insider!
Stacee - I highly recommend the new YYY. It's a little more mellow and a LOT more synth-y, but its fantastic. I like Kelly Clarkson too - the new album is iffy for me...i can't listen to it straight through. My December was by far her best, in my opinion. It's such a shame that Clive totally dissed it. LAME. My bf loves Slightly Stoopid.
I love Reel Big Fish! Saw 'em once. Fun times.
I NEED to get the new YYYs! Love them :) I am feeling mellow and summertime music right now. I think it is because of the ridiculous heat we have been hacing in L.A. You guys should check out M. Ward and his side project with Zooey Deschanel (who I love!) called She & Him. They have a great retro vibe. I have also been blasting Rush (who doesn't love some Rush?) a lot lately on my drive back home to kind of de-stress and just rock out!
I don't really remember Rush. What did they sing?
Tom Sawyer The Spirit of Radio YYZ Limelight Closer to the Heart Freewill Those are some of their bigger hits that you may know. Basically they are an awesome 70's-80's, and still going, rock band from Canada. Their drummer Neil Peart was known for having a massive drum kit too, 33 pieces I think to make up a 360 drum kit!
I don't recognize any of those titles but I will see if YT has some videos or something up.
Lately I have been listening to everything that isn't blues, jazz, country, opera, or bluegrass. Haha. I have taken a very big fondness of Silversun Pickups and their new single Panic Switch. I have been a huge fan ever since Lazy Eye came out, but this new one is great.

Bought the CD like a week after it was released. I hear a Vol 2 is eventually coming out. Zooey is amazing in everything she does. M Ward's solo records I'm not too big on. And Dartagan - I like Silversun Pickups! Carnavas was really a cool record, and I hear their new one is good too! I should grab it.
Their new album is really great. I am also a huge fan of Feel Good Drag, the new single by Anberlin too.
I haven't really hard anything by Anberlin but I've read so much. I'll check it out.
Yeah I heavily suggest you check them out, preferably that song too.

And my favorite as of right now has to be Santogold, who actually had like the 5th best album out of 100 lin 2008, according to Rolling Stones.
