The Dark Knight

Is anyone else totally pumped to see this movie?!?! Heath Ledger's death aside and all, I have been looking forward to this movie since I saw a snippet of the trailor last summer. I think this looks awesome and I definately think Heath looks like the scariest joker ever (and Jack Nichelson (sp?) ) scared the crap outta me when I was a kid. Would like to see it right away, but I might wait a week or so till all the fuss dies down a bit.

The fact that he is dead makes this very iffy for me. Almost like Brandon Lee in The Crow.

I have no doubt it is going to be absolutely awesome, it just feels a bit awkward at this time and I am not sure I could fully enjoy the movie with the disturbing weight of tragic circumstance still thick in the air.

Yeah, I completely understand. I was nervous to bring it up....I hate to say it. I was almost more excited to see it before he died, because now I think lots of freaks and stuff will flock to see it because they are morbid like that. And that's not why I want to see it. I have always liked the Batman franchise (more so than most "superhero" genres), but I do agree w/ you on the weirdness of it.
We shall see.

Re: The Dark Knight

I'm with Bacchus on this. I don't think I will be going to the movie theater to see it. I can barely watch old Heath flicks now. Especially 10 Things I Hate about You and The Patriot.

However, I did watch Brokeback about a month ago. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be but still very sad.

I've seen all the Batman movies and I was looking forward to this one. <sigh>

Re: The Dark Knight

That was the question I asked my cousin the other day...would people be affected by seeing him on the screen knowing what has happened? I definitely would be because it's always weird to see someone dead, especially if it was yragic as this was, on screen for me at least.

BUT this looks like a great movie and I have to admit I love Batman movies(except maybe a couple). It adds a modern spin on the Joker and Batman which I can't wait to see plus they say it is one of Heath's best roles which makes things even more tragic if you think about it.

Still I'm gonna watch it because honestly, I'm not going to avoid it despite it being weird to see him on screen. It's still shaping up to be a good movie and I can't wait to see it.

Re: The Dark Knight

I have always been a big fan of Heath Ledger's work so I will not miss this movie which is supposed to be his best work to date. I don't think he would be happy if he knew that his fans didn't want to watch it because of his tragic death. This is something that I am sure he was very proud of and he deserves a box office hit with this show. I told my husband he was not allowed to watch it online because I just wouldn't feel right about him not adding to the numbers of viewers at the theater.

Re: The Dark Knight

My husband and I are huge Batman begins fans, if you haven't seen it you definetly should before you see The Dark Knight!

We were following the movie on the internet when production first started and could not wait. Then Heath passed, so saD! We hope that Heath get's great acknowledgement for the movie, but hope that the Movie get's the credit it deserves! It is going to be great!

BTW did anyone see on the MTV movie awards the skit with Robert Downey Jr. where the kid says to him, your'e screwed when the dark knight comes out, and Christian bale would kick your ass! LOL
